If your Christmas wish for 2020 is a bike under the tree then Life Cycle Bikes (LCB) suggests getting an order in now to avoid disappointment.
A pandemic-prompted demand for bikes combined with worldwide delays and slowed bicycle production in Asia has caused a disruption to the Australian supply. LCB owner, Robert Astromsky said this ‘perfect storm’ continues to hamper the bicycle retail industry with LCB certainly not immune to the problem.
“Fortunately however, thanks to large orders made before COVID 19 hit and because we have a smaller customer catchment… we are still able to fill most orders and keep our customers happy. We have even sold a record amount of bikes to people travelling to the area on holidays as Perth bike shops are bare.
“Realistically the situation is unlikely to improve for six to 12 months.
“You may not be able to get the colour you want but we will do our best to get you or your kids on a new bike for Christmas – just get an order in now. Ring the shop on 97587671 or come in-store to look at our range.”
Despite bike shops across the country struggling to keep up with what has been described as “unprecedented” demand for bicycles, Life Cycle Bikes is fortunate to have a great range of bikes in-store.
LCB Manager, Robert Astromsky said he could offer Trek, Specialized and newly-stocked German brand, Focus to customers. “We might not have every model at every price point but we are fortunate to have made large bicycle orders pre-COVID 19 which has resulted in us being able to assist our customers during such a high demand period,” he said.
So come in-store and have a look at the new shipments of mountain bikes, Trek Marlin 5 and 6, Specialized Rockhoppers in small and XXs and our exciting new electric- assist Focus bike in hardtail and dual suspension.

More bike paths opening up in Perth.
Life Cycle Bikes are glad to see the state government making this a priority.
See below for Rita Saffioti MLA’s recent press release.
Success is in sight for an uninterrupted principal shared path between Midland and the Perth CBD.
The PSP will soon offer a continuous, completely off-road journey for people riding between Midland and the Perth CBD, with construction now underway on the last remaining gap next to Success Hill station.
As well as working together to minimise the impact on existing vegetation, the State Government and the Town of Bassendean have developed the Green Trails initiative.
This will add complementary natural landscaping to the area alongside the path, creating a shaded and scenic green transport route for a more enjoyable walking and riding experience.
I am pleased we have been able to construct this important missing link which will improve safety and convenience for people riding and walking, while preserving much-loved local trees.
This is part of our $146 million investment in shared paths over the next four years to encourage people to walk and cycle and we expect works to be completed in late July.
