Robert Astromsky has always had a passion for cycling, having been a serious road competitor in the USA. He also worked in bike shops repairing and selling bikes to help finance his racing.

In September 2002, he moved to Margaret River and bought the original shop, Margaret River Cycles. After two years of growing the business, Robert teamed up with a couple of investors in 2004 and opened additional shops in Dunsborough and Busselton. Feeding his passion for riding and getting others onto bikes, Robert became the first Serotta trained bike fitter in Western Australia.

After more than 20 years of serving the South West, the multiple stores consolidated and re-branded as Life Cycle Bikes. Robert and the team at LCB Margaret River continue to sell industry leading brands and high quality products; offering the best value in the market, as well as having one of the largest range of ebikes in the south west capes region.

Robert and the team remain involved in competitive and recreational cycling events; with Robert riding in numerous road, gravel, and cross country events around Western Australia over the years. In 2026, Robert qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. This event will be held in Nannup in October 2026.
